The material should be high-pressure laminate, a more advanced technology that provides better quality, and it should have its UV protection. The overall thickness should be at least 8-mm or 9-mm, but for a high-quality look and feel, you might go as high as 10-mm or 12-mm. The core should be the HDF (high-density fiberboard) because that is the most stable and water-resistant.
